Jsa & tax credits - confused!!!!

Hi
My partner recently got laid off and is now claiming income based job seekers. I am a stay at home mum.
Need to call the tax credits to let them know our changes.
Does anyone know if tax credits will go up or down ?? Less earnings for this financial year make me think my payments might go up, but on the other hand neither of us is working over 16 hours. I'm worried that our payments might stop altogether.
Has anyone else had a similar situation??

You will lose your working tax credits but your child tax credits will increase. Shouldn't take too long for you to get your new award through as it's not a new claim. Make sure you check what other help you are eligible for - housing benefit, free school meals, council tax benefit etc.
