What counts a a purchase on a credit card

I have just got a credit card. It has 0% interest on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months. I want to pay off two catalogue accounts that I have (next and very).

I know I can't transfer these as balances, but does anyone know if I can make a payment on the credit card online to them and would that count as a 'purchase'.

I think my other option is to put household spending on the credit card, and then put the cash towards these catalogues. But this just feels messy to me, and would take a number of months.

You can transfer your next account if you have a store card, I did.

if you transfer the store cards INTO the credit card, then they become zero interest
if you pay money across to them it will almost certainly count as a cash withdrawal which is the WORST type of transaction

and remember NOT to let them make you pay the minimum - as per the figures in my sheet.

I pay my next account every month with my credit card. Always been treated as a purchase

Yes but you can also do a balance transfer for your whole next amount owed as if it was a credit card transfer.
