Can banks take charges from benifit payments?

all i have going into account is family credit and child benifit..... can the banks take the charges form these, i just remember thinking that i heard they couldnt do this?

yes but no more then £12

Yes they can take charges from any money in the bank it doesn't matter where the money is coming from.
