Changing bank account address details.

I have recently moved into shared accomodation and need to change my address with my bank. They need proof of address which I don't have a it's not my house. Any ideas?

Do you get post delivered, are you on the electoral roll, do you pay utility bills at that address? That's all they need really, evidence that you actually live there.

I just did mine online. Yesterday. And it was between two continents.

I dont remember having to provide proof of address change, they just used my signature (held on file) and compared it to the signature on the letter notifying them of the change.

Mine was HSBC.
