We're getting 480 shares, we've got 2 endownments with SL and have had them for 15 years each.

I thought we'd get a lot more shares, has anyone got a lot or are we average?

I've got more - I've got a pension plan which is only owrth around £10k with them. Are your endowments all "with profts"?

ssd · 23/06/2006 17:44

yes they are with profits. I pay about £20 and £35 a month to both of them. Would this make a difference? Together they make £34000 cover.

We've got 1500, DH has a frozen pension plan with them. It's been frozen for about 10 years & it ran for about 10 before that.

ssd · 25/06/2006 20:35

would you get more with a pension than with 2 endownment policies?

can anyone help/explain this ??

How may did you get Ladymuck? DH's pension I think is worth about £27K but I wondered if because it was frozen it affected it.

ssd · 25/06/2006 21:20

my endownments are woth more than your pension. why did you get more than me? I#ve had my 2 endownments since 1991.I'm confused now.

it depends which proportion of you endowment is invested in with profits..

Donbean · 25/06/2006 21:32

Does any one know how much each share is worth? Just aprox so that i can calculate how much i will get if i choose to sell them.

ladymuck · 25/06/2006 21:36

Expected to float at somewhere between 210p and 270p.

Donbean · 25/06/2006 21:40

Thanks very much x

ladymuck · 25/06/2006 21:41

ssd, the allocation of shares is based on how long you money has been invested as well as how much.

The £34k you've quoted looks like the amount of insurance cover - do you know the current value of the endowments. It is likely to be less if you are paying in £55 per month.

ssd · 26/06/2006 07:37

ladymuck, the value is less.

I'm going to give them a call today.

How did you get on?

ssd · 26/06/2006 20:32

you know, I'm none the wiser. the girl on the phone didn't expain it well at all. just seems you get what you get and thats it.
