Annual leave straight after paternity leave

Am obviously naive but surprised to find DH's second week of paternity leave is at SMP rate (realise first week on full pay is not ness the norm but surprised nonetheless).

I am wondering if he can take 1 week paternity leave and then 1-2 of annual leave straightaway but can't find answers online.

Anyone have experience of this? Or does it depend on the individual employer?

Can't see why not! But obviously check with his HR dept. my DH took 2 weeks paternity leave then tacked a week of annual leave straight afterwards

dh took 2 weeks annual leave rather than paternity leave due to just getting paternity pay. It will depend on the company so he should ask and see what they say.

it's down to the employer, if they are able to be flexible enough with AL to tag it on to paternity leave, the dates of which are rarely set in stone.
My DH is v lucky and gets full pay for paternity leave, and they let him tag two weeks holiday on to it completely flexibly, so with DC2&3 he had a month off, so it is possible.

Depends on the employer - dh had agreed up front with his employer that he would take paternity leave then 2 full weeks of AL, then use AL for part weeks

Thanks everyone for speedy replies! Good to know might be possible. Will get him to ask.
