Child Tax credit Review letter

Hi,
I hope someone can help or even has experience of this. I received the above letter about 2 months ago to say that they have checked the credit reference agency and it shows that my ex husband is living at my address. This is not correct as we separated in 2010, he asked over 2 years ago if I would let him get a new bank card sent to my address as he has no fixed addressed. I didn't see a problem in it as he regularly visits our children, not in a million years did I realize this may happen. I sent all of the required information to the tax credits office and called today at which they said that the documents would not be looked at for another 2 weeks.

I think my question is what will happen next? Its only his bank and driving licence at my address and he has no financial connection to my address in any other way. I am very worried (Sleepless nights and stress) what the consequences of this small error is, I work in education so I am very worried that I will be cautioned (I've read that this can happen) and the impact it will have on my career.

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I DONT KNOW WHERE TO TURN NEXT.

Thanks

similar thing happened to me. My ex still uses this address for official letters and still owns half the property. I was lucky in that we had been to mediation and it was documented that I would live here and he would find a shared flat.I would explain it all in detail to the tax credits about when the relationship broke down , when he moved etc , why he still uses your address. If you have any one official that you have spoken to about your seperration , solicitor, GP etc to back up your claim I think that would help.

Thanks for your reply coribells I have given them bank statements, council tax statements and my tenancy agreement to prove that everything is mine name only but that is all I have. We split up 3 years ago and ive moved home since so haven't really spoke to anyone, i'm a very quiet person so didn't really talkit through with anyone.

Is your investigation still on going? If it was resolved how did it turn out? (Tell me to mind my own business if you want!)

thanks

it was a couple of years ago now. After I sent in all the information they called me to ask some questions , they wanted info about my ex address which I didn't have. I must have sounded convincing on the phone though because they decided there wasn't a further case to investigate and realised I was telling the truth..
