Increase credit card limit early

We are going to be into unauthorised overdraft territory for a few days around 19-22nd August as DH is being paid for some work he has done on 23rd but our DDs are spread throughout the month.

We've just had a letter from Tesco Bank doubling our credit limit on our credit card. Ironically the new limit takes effect on 23rd August.

Do you think it's worth calling them and asking if the increase can be moved forward at all...?

The card currently has a limit of £1k and we owe £900 so not much use without the increase in limit. We would pay back the extra borrowing (but not the £900) almost immediately once money is cleared from DH's client.

Personally, I would explain the situation to your bank & see if they will extend your overdraft temporarily.
