What do I tell the Tax Credits people

Currently they know our average weekly rate which will continue until Friday 9th August when he finishes 4 full days a week at nursery (£600 per month). The following week, DS starts school and childcare (whoop!) drops to £40 per month as I am changing my hours to school hours bar one day a week.

So I know I need to tell them about the change when it happens but what do I do over the holidays when he will be back in the nursery but as part of the holiday club at £100 per week.

Do I phone them at each change or do I work out an average of childcare costs from August to April based on the monthly figure of £40 plus estimated holiday club costs?

Work out a realistic average and keep enough receipts, bank statements and other documentation to provide evidence if it's requested.

Average childcare costs over 52 weeks & tell them that fich=ure - 13 weeks holiday costs plus 39 weeks school costs divided by 52.

Thanks.

I call them as it changes. They can do a short term change (eg I call them the week before school holidays with the cost of childcare for that period, and it will stop automatically the last week of the holidays). I found it easier to do this as working out the average cost over a year, for me, would be a nightmare. You would need to factor in when you have annual leave so no costs etc.

That is the thing, I am only sure of annual leave against schools holidays until the end of the year.
