Tax credits helpline not picking up...

I really need to renew, I've finally got my renewal pack and after listening to their bloody options for twenty minutes they hang up on me!

Is there a 'good' time to phone? I can't do it by post as I need to change my childcare costs (by £5 a week if that makes much difference?) and there isn't the option to do that by post

They are so utterly useless!

You can only change childcare costs if they go up or down by £10 or more a week if that helps.

I have trying for a week now and it's driving me crazy. I've submitted an application 4 weeks ago. Anyone any idea how I can get through? Thanks.

I got through in the afternoon about 3:30.

I'll try again tomorrow. When I get where I want I'm just told that they can't take my call and im cut off. Soooooo frustrating.

Yeah they do that when it's really busy. My dad says a good time to call is in the evening as they're open until 8

Also if you submitted at application is there a reason why you're trying to get through? It's the busiest time of the year at the moment plus they were on strike last week

Sorry not to have replied sooner! I eventually got through on Thursday morning. It's a new application and just wanted to check on it's progress as it's been weeks and weeks since I sent it.

I got money in my account today just waiting for the paperwork so mine's been really quick they said it could take six weeks....
