Dp was assaulted last week and we have since been to a solicitors. Dp gets income support as so I thought he would automatically be awarded full legal aid i.e. advice, and solicitor with him in court etc as he is pressing charges.
Solicitors have now sent us a booklet about legal aid (it has a new name now, sorry forgot it already!) and it seems sooooooo complicated.
Does anyone know how it works? With most things like prescriptions, housing benefit etc if you get income support you automatically get awarded the full amount possible IYSWIM
