Does anyont know if you can have a joint mortgage but deeds in sole name?

The fixed rate is coming to an end on my mortgage and I would like to change it to a better deal. DP and I would like a joint mortgage but I want the deeds to remain in my name only. (Not that I don't trust him or anything but had my fingers burnt through joint deeds in the past and vowed I'd never be in that situation again)

Does anyone know if this is possible?

TIA

no if you're name is on the mortgage ten you have to be named on the deeds otherwise in the event of a default they have no record of the assets being in the correct names

you can have a joint mortgage but be tenants in common and you can state how much of a percentage each person is entitled to

no idea if that's the best way to go about it though

Thanks both, I'll look ino the tenants in common. Quite territorial when it comes to my house so its looking like it'll be a single mortgage application Smile
