DIRECTIONS HEARING?can someone explain please

i have a directions hearing at court on friday, re access, the judge will have copies of both our statements. i wondered if anyone knew what this is for as i have a welfare officer visiting me at home next week and then she wants to see my ex at my home with ds to see how he interacts with him. i dont understand what the apt is for on friday as im presuming the welfare reports have to be back before he's awarded access?cant get hold of solicitor to ask her, so hoping some kind soul can take away my worries about it please

just got back from court. what a palava, as i was chatting the barrister, who was really nice, the exes sols asked her for a word and said that he'd agreed to the 1hour a week supervised by my mother. i think he must have realised how bad the statement made him sound and didnt want it discussed publicly. anyway me and mum are really pleased. next step is court again after the welfare report in july and i presume court for the rest of my ds childhood everytime he wants the access to lengthen! thanks a lot for all your support, im a happy girl today

Glad to hear it was sorted as you wanted. There's no need for the court to be involved every time you want to change contact. If you can agree it between you, that's fine. It's only if there is a dispute that you need to involve the courts.
