Eek! Should We already have filled out a Child Benefit form?

Can't remember receiving this form....

DH earns £55k, I earn approx £4k.

if you were opting out of child benefit it needs to be done by the 7th January. As your dh earns less than 60K you would be better to keep getting the CB as you will not lose the full payment (it will only be based on his wage and does not take yours into account). He will have to register for self assessment though and fill in a tax return.

p.s. no forms are sent out - you need to phone/go online to opt out of payments or register for self assessment.

As already said, all you need to do is register for self-assessment. I use a bit of software called Taxcalc for online filing which makes the job really easy
