Obviously I will be buying food and sundries like shampoo, nappies and wipes etc.
But I have the intention of reducing unnecessary spending on baby clothes, toys, make up and bits and bobs I don't need but end up purchasing.
I would like to declutter and make 2013 a minimal waste year; be kinder to the environment, my purse and the community.
Anyone like to join me?

I'm up for this. I have credit card debts to clear this year and I have a bad eBay habit and am finding the sales a terrible temptation.....!! What do we do? Share tips?

motherdelicious · 04/01/2013 12:28

Hi solittle... and wheeler! Smile
Thanks for joining me. I guess this is just to encourage each other to keep on track and sharing tips is always great.
Walked through tescos on the way back from the GP but happy to say I didn't buy anything. Normally I'd buy some chocs, a magazine and something for my DD. Day 2 - so far so good! only 98 to go.
I'm hoping to keep up with this habit so I can do some courses in cake making and decorating.
As I am a SAHM it gets very easy and tempting to buy things. When I was working I had no time to buy anything.
Ebay is very addictive. I always used to say that I won things, but really, I was paying for them...

Hi, think I should join you too, I've recently stopped working a v well paid job and my bank balance is suffering as I've been spending so much! Some on baby clothes but quite a lot on clothes in the sales and eBay bargains for myself. DH is also fed up with me wasting time shopping online

SilverSixpence · 04/01/2013 13:32

clicked too soon on my phone! was going to say, i also think i've gone a bit overboard so would like to reclaim my time for something useful! I don't have debts but won't be getting any maternity pay so need to budget carefully from now on. Definitely have a bad habit of buying little treats too.

We've bought a brand new house and a brand new car in the last five months and just booked a summer holiday! I want to cut back so that we have enough for the holiday without me going into a panic. I have spent little so far this year and hope to keep it like that! Apart from a £5 plant for my friend who has cancer and a bouquet for my mum's birthday...nothing for me or DC though (yet).

Well done, Lilacbaubles. I think gifts are allowed Wink. Had to buy two little gifts for first birthdays this week. You can't turn up to a bday party without a gift, can you? you could, but it's not really polite.
But otherwise, I've been good. Hobbs has this dress that I've been eyeing for ages and it's now 70% off. Thank goodness it has run out of my size!!!
