Blush

I knew it would be more hassle than it's worth to sell stuff on ebay but I did it anyway.

I've just sold a few items and I requested payment through paypal. I have 2 emails saying Notification of an Instant Purchase Payment for Item No.XXXXXXXXXX

What does that mean? When I go to paypal, I have had no recent payments into my paypal account. Am I supposed to do something to 'collect' the money?

Paypal thoroughly confuses me.

That's weird - you should be able to see the payments going into your paypal account !

You haven't set two up by mistake have you and the payments have gone into the other one ? That happened to a friend of mine !

But yes - if you have been notified of a payment - it should be sitting there -and you can either leave it in Paypal to spend yourself or draw it down into your account - you have to request this - it's not automatic.

I recently changed my email address on ebay but did not change my paypal one. Could that be causing a problem? But I am sure I have received a paypal payment since then.

Yes I think that will be your problem. Log onto paypal and change your e-mail address and see if that works.

Now I have two options. When I click on the instnant notification of payment - I realise it is telling me to set up an account so I can retrieve the funds.

So, if I add my new email address to my exisitng account, will it scoop up the payments? Or should I open a new paypal account with my new email address (which I'd rather not do) and get the funds that way?
Argh - what a pain.

OK - I added the new email address and made it primary and the funds came through. Thanks.
