I have just recieved loads of bumpf through the post from university with regards to an Enhanced CRB check- I had a standard check done last year for my voluntary work- what is the difference between the standard one and the enhanced one?

They go into more detail. From what I remember the form is longer! Think you have to disclose everything, including spent convictions, etc.

I have had to have really detailed checks for my current job and there seemed to be lots of paperwork to fill in.

You have to have an enhanced check done if you work with children or vulnerable adults (ie mentally ill)

They not only check for previous convictions but other info that may be on file.
