Armed Forces Pension and Tax Credits

Hi - any help would be welcome :-)

My husband has just been discharged from the military and will be entitled to a pension called the 'armed forces compensation scheme GIP (guarenteed income payment)'. The whole discharge has been handled badly and we have had no financial advice. We are aware that some military pensions will not be taken into account, however tax credits themselves will not tell us until we have received the paperwork confirming the pension type, neither will housing benifit.

All we need to know is is it taken into account or not so we will have an idea how much money we will have to cover everything - can anyone help? Its quite a distressing and uncertain time for us and l would appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance

£10 per week will be disregarded, he will need to include the rest in his income here
