Tax Credit - Can't get through to renew

Having problems getting throught to tax credit scamming phone lines?..

Here is what you do.. And trust me, this does work..

Call 141 01355 359 007 You must dial 141 before the number so they don't know where you are calling from..

Just say you are on vacation in Spain and your mother just gave you all your P60 details over the phone and that you don't return to the uk until August..

Vwahhla - Straight through, renewal dealt with :-)

Thanks you - after listening to the automated messages six time and being then told there was no one to answer my call (4 and half minutes each time) I got through this way - got a long lecture but seeing as everytime they make me feel like criminal that is ok :)

Apparently though no one there can change the way the phones work at all ((as in not making you listing to the message before telling you they are too busy) asked nicely for this too be passed on to the ladies manager and was told no point as they can't do anything nor can there managers -so if anyone knows who runs the tax credit phone system please do tell them.

I got through on this number, I did have an ear bashing though as I wasn't calling from abroad.

You're a genius! Been trying to get through for over a week, tried the number you posted and got through straight away. They didn't even tell me off! I love mumsnet.

NO !!! They have done something now !!!! It rang and said numder not recognised....2nd time it said nimber does not recieve incoming calls ...3rd time just went straight to beeeeeep noise !!!!

i just got through (thanks) and got asked where i was calling from and that they wouldn't normally be able to help but they would on this occasion.

a reaaaally quick question - if you post the renewal form back- do they send an acknowledgement? im certain i posted it back but aroubd that same time i posted, two birthday cards were never rec'd.. only just dawned on me now

I eventually got an award notice, took a couple of weeks I think. The forms have to be in by today I think, not sure though I as got mine in April/early May and sent it back by return.

I used this number this morning as well, just tell them you're on holiday in France or some such and they do it then. Pretty sure she didn't believe me but they can hardly say anything when the other number has been constantly busy for weeks, makes you listen to 4 minutes of crap and then cuts you off or tells you to call back later...
