like wage slips
bank/credit card/mortgage statements

etc etc

We are having a mega clear out and have some going back 15 years! Would like to get rid of as much as possible but don't want to get rid of anything we shouldn't?

Six years, apparently.

I'd say 6 years - IR are querying stuff from 2001 and we wouldn't otherwise be able to prove we have already filed a return.

six years for income. I wouldn't bother so much about things the IR don't need like credit card statements, generak bills, ets (probably keep mine for 1 -2 years).

Thanks
