Recently split up with Dh, so have applied for tax credits about 4 weeks ago, just recieved a letter asking for Just had letter from tax credits. They want originals of the following.. Payslips since feb, contact of employment, evidence of child beniefit, contract with nursery, all invoices or receipts from nursey, bank statements, mortgage statement, council tax bill, gas electricity and telephone bills. By the 7th June.

I don't even have half this stuff, and Alrhough we are most definately split up, Dh is still living in house until the end of the month until he can move into rented accomodation.

Really thought it would be sorted by now, instead I hadevto try and pull together this stuff... A lot of which I don't even have as bills are mostly online.

If I can't provide all of this stuff are they gonna tell me to do one? (((worried)))

Hi, can't answer your question but wanted to let you know I'm in the same situation. Husband finally left end of March though and they've had all papers in their possession since April 24th. I sent them a letter explaining situation, got copies of nursery invoices etc. as all bills were in husband's name I simply mentioned I was in process of moving everything to my name, same as council tax letter. Have you started divorce proceedings yet? I sent them the Notice of Proceedings that I got from court. The problem is that April/may is the period of renewals for tax credits so they seem to be incredible busy. One thing i still need to do is sent a letter of complaint....I tried to call them daily for 10 days after receiving the letter requesting everything as I was so distressed. I left messages on their voicemail but no one has ever bothered to call me back. People on the tax credit helpline were very kind but they can't do anything when the application is with a compliance officer. As they've had my papers for nearly 3 weeks now, I'm going to chase them next week again. I heard from one woman she had to wait 4 months before she got her first money! At least they backdate it to when the claim was first received. Good luck, you're not the first or only one in this situation but it is soooo stressful, isn't it.

Btw I was told by tax credit line that as long as we lived separate households (eg do own cooking, washing, splitting bills), I would be eligible for credits even while we still lived in the same house

Get it together as soon as you can as they will want to see it. I had to one year & had to ask for copies of nursery receipts etc. But it can be done!!!
