How old are you? What type of course - is it college or uni?

You need to contact your local council and find out. The college should be able to help you.

In that case see your uni welfare people. You shouldn't be paying any council tax if you are the only person in your property - you need to get a letter confirming you are a full time student from your uni and then take it to the council.

Usually you don't get help with rent if you are in HE but you may do because you have children - the uni are probably the best people to help, and they can check you have applied for the extra student loans and grants funding you can get. They may also have their own funding to cover childcare costs as well.

Apply. Student parents are eligible to apply and they will work it out based in your income (Inc certain elements of student loans)
