PPI claims over 6 years old.

Hi all, I am just starting a PPI claim that is a bit tricky and wondered if anyone else was in the same boat or could offer advice.

Story so far,

We had a letter from the Next Directory stating they were ending there PPP as of March 2012. Had a look at DHs account and see that he has been paying this, for years.

I contacted Next who stated that yes he had been paying it since 1990 but as they are not a firm regulated by the Financial Services Authority for insurance sales they were under no obligation to provide advice or check if the policy was suitable.

The policy was just added and you had to opt out if he didn't want it.

The next step I am going to take is to write to the under writers of the policy, FirstAssist Insurance Services and see where I get with them.

If anyone else is dealing with a similar situation I would greatly appreciate anny tips and advise. Smile

Run a search on the ppi forum on money saving expert. Might be some details there.

I have, Next seem to be tricky buggers and I cannot find anyone with any positive results.

Thing is it is classic misselling, 22 years of paying for something not wanted!

They said no when I claimed.

Its so unfair, they just added ppp without anyones consent. There are loads of threads about it but none with a positive outcome. Sad

I will try sending the initial letter to First Assist and let you know how it goes.
