help with bank account on hold

I posted this before in chat but figured people might know more here...

My bank account is currently on hold due to unpaid loan payments and overdraft. The account has been handed over to a collection agency (moorcroft), and I have been speaking to moorcroft and have come up with repayment terms.

I'm due to have some money going into the account from my old employer. It's already gone through payroll and is now too late to stop the payment. What will happen to the money? Will I be able to get hold of it, or will my account now stay on hold, even though I am now making repayments? Thanks for any replies :)

Hm, I wonder if you would be able to use the right of first appropriation.. Here's some info I found on it + a sample template you could use:

I'm not sure though if it would work, but perhaps worth a try. Good luck!

If you've got debt problems it's probably worth talking to CAB, CCCS or National Debtline rather than leave it all to your bank. If money goes into an account that is badly overdrawn then I think the bank would assume you were using the money to reduce the overdraft. The link mentions acting 7 days before the payment goes in and I think you're therefore too late.
