Benefits for Single Mum living with parents

I split up with my DCs dad a few weeks ago due to his alcohol problems (a whole other thread).
I have since been living with my mum with my 2 DCs (8m and 23m). I have been working full time (nothing special - call centre, minimum wage). The call centre was closed last monday and we all lost our jobs with no notice at all. To top things off I havent been paid either (think the company is going into liquidation). I had only been there 7 weeks so not entitled to redundancy or anything.

I have started the job hunt with no luck yet. I am just wondering what benefits I can claim in the meantime to help us along? I dont know what i can claim as i am living with my mum.

TIA

You can claim job seekers, and child tax credit, but not housing benefit.

Try the Turn2Us Benefits Calculator which is very good for highlighting what's potentially available to you. Some of the rules are changing from April so I'm expecting it to be updated soon for the 2012/13 tax year. But it's not a bad guide.

It'll be income support as your children are still babies. You can also claim child benefit and child tax credit. Sorry about your job. Sad
