PPI claims - have been living under a rock

Just did not take much notice of the current position. However, every month I look at my credit card statement and wonder why I pay payment protection. I cannot even remember if we were ever asked if we wanted it when we took out mastercard many years ago.
How do I know if I was 'mis-sold'?

If you have a look at the Moneysavingexpert website PPI Reclaiming Guide you'll get good information on whether it has been missold and, if so, how to claim. Because there are so many claims going through the banks are paying up without much fuss. If you're not sure that you have a claim, make one anyway

Thanks Cogito. I probably fall into the category of persons who were required to opt out by ticking a box if they did not want it because I don't recall making a conscious decision of requesting it.
Will have to dig out paperwork but think it's worth it.

From what I've seen with other people's cases, definitely make a claim even if you think you're not on totally solid ground. Use the MSE template that most closely matches your situation.
