Tax credits notices ... How many do you get?

Last week I got 2 notices, confirming our tax credits for the year 2004-2005. They were identical, but dated 2 days apart. We also received 2 addressed to dh (of course).

Todays post includes a tax credit notice for 2005-2006, dated 10th Jan, and one with exactly the same information dated 12th Jan.
And 2 for dh, even tho' the tax authorities know that we live at the same address, and I have authority to deal with dh's tax matters.

Each of these includes the large information leaflet so it costs a lot in paper as well as postage.
Do you get these multiple notices? I've just realised this makes a total of 16 notices in the last year, they seem to just send them out whenever they like.

We had oner for me and one for DH recently - and for some reason DH's was to our old address whereas mine was for this address.

Four each last time, two with one lot of details and two with another, obviously one lot was wrong, consequently we had been overpaid and now i'm looking into having to go back to work as i can't afford to live on the £7 a week i'm getting
