query for small business owners - credit card terminals

Anyone run a small business and can recommend a company to buy / lease credit card terminal from? I'm just looking to start receiving credit card payments soon and have had quote from Barclaycard and Chip & Pin Solutions but just wondering of there is one in particular people would recommend?

hi MadamA - if you join the Federation of small businesses - i think about £120/year but less if you are a one man (woman) band - you can get preferential rates from Streamline on the terminal and the commission charged - also lots of other benefits included - you need to really check out the terms on card processing companies as some dont pass the money on to you for 3/4 weeks so they can wait to make sure its not fraudulent -

My professional body has a great deal with HSBC. We have been with them for 7 years now they are really good very few problems and rates are very competitive recent streamline quote was double HSBC.
We get our money with in 48 hours of it an end of day being done which up loads all the info to HSBC. HSBC terminals can not share phone lines with broadband the only disadvantage.
