child benefit is around £11 for second child.
Tax credit is dependent on your income etc so would depend on that.

Nemo1977 · 06/01/2006 19:05

sorry thats £11 a week..lol

Mum2OneAndBump · 06/01/2006 19:09

Thanks for that Nemo.

Oh yes of course it depends on income lol is there a site where you can go & check? i thought there was one but can not find it?

the website is www.direct.gov.uk they used to have an interactive section which told you how much you 'may' get, but that seems to have gone. it now says up to £1960 per child depending on income.

if you are entitled to child tax credit, they will also give you an extra £10 a week for children under 12 months, that was a great bonus when I had twins

There is a site that will give you an estimate, just a mo I will see if I can find it.

mum2one www.entitledto.com is supposed to be ok but dont take it as law as it told us we were entitled to a lot more than we actually are!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 06/01/2006 19:16

11.40 a week now c/b

my tax credits went from £28.50 a week to £75.01 when becky was born

to give you an idea I have a 2.2yr old and a 3wk old and income is just under £20,000 a year and we are entitled to £1340 a year.

Nemo1977 · 06/01/2006 19:18
