i have increased my hours from 10 hours a week to 20 hours a week at work. I recieve child tax credits but as I now work 20 hours a week I think I am entitled to working tax credit.. is this much of a difference per week?
I only started 20 hours per week yesterday do I inform the inland revenue straight away?

Yes I think you are dependent on how much you and your partner (assuming you have one) earn. You have to be working 16 hours a week to qualify. Yes inform them straight away but don't expect it to get sorted straight away!

ok great! yes I have got a partner but he works over 40 hours per week .
technically we don't live together as he is still registered living at his mums.. if I claimed that we did live together as we pretty much do now would I get more ..?

theres a good website called www.entitledto.co.uk which you can put all your figures in and it will give you a rough estimate to what benefits you could receive.. Its good cause you can play around with all the figures and see whats the best way!
