How to move a BT business phone broadband package

I have a BT business phone/broadband package with 24 months lock in. It will expire end of January 2012. However, I will be moving premises per 1 December 2011. I would like to move my BT package to the new address, however, BT is only willing to do so if I agree to a new lock in of 24 months. I do not want to be locked in again for 24 months as it has been a very bad deal. BT has said that in that case I have to take a new phone and broadband package for the new address but still also pay for my existing but now redundant package at the old address. Can BT legally refuse to move my existing package to the new address whilst still forcing me to pay for a package I can no longer use?

I think they can, they did the same thing to me, albeit with a residential package, last year. I was supposed to be paying double for two months until the old package was out of contract. In the end they then made a complete hash of setting things up. I suggested that seeing as the whole mess was entirely their fault, the least they could do was waive those last two months' charges, and they did! So there might be some room for negotiation. You could always threaten to leave, and see what happens?
