Just been quoted a loan by nationwide where I have my account to consolidate credit card payments. Quote for loan comes out £40 more than I pay at the moment. I know all the pluses..will get paid off, omly paying off interest etc so extra amount each month is better in the long term.
However is it worth asking other providers to give me a quote.

When taking out a loan you're effectively 'buying money'. Assuming the consolidation is a few hundred/thousand, like any other major purchase it pays to shop around. Yes, compare some alternative lenders to make sure you're getting the best value for money.
