Bank or building society for DS

Willabywallaby · 17/10/2011 09:14

DS (6) is getting obsessed with money and has about £100 in cash from birthday money.

We want to open some sort of account for him that he can access. Would a building society be better since he would get a book and would understand better, or are there any child friendly accounts like we were young?

Thanks

My DS has both for reasons too dull to go into. His Nationwide comes with a passbook and he likes taking the cash to the window and getting the balance updated etc. His bank account is run on-line with statements so not quite so 'tangible'... but will probably be the one we upgrade to a cash card when the time comes.

Whichever you go for, make sure you fill out the form so that they don't get charged tax on any interest.
