Just wanted to know if anyone else is having to be payed their tax credits by giro at the moment, due to more B**tard computer errors?

Changed my payments with them last week as I'm paying less in childcare cost until january and now they have stopped, wish I hadn't bothered my arse and just payed them back next year instead.

I was from April until November and at sometime in November they paid 6 months into my bank, so now will have to pay it back next year

i dont even know if i should be getting them at all, i get £2.73 a week paid into my account (reduced amount cos they overpaid us last year - dont know how cos all details i gave were definately correct), but recently got a letter saying i would have to send a cheque for the amount i owe them as i am no longer entitled and they would contact me about it. then i got another letter saying they were paying me the £2.73. i dont understand them. i dont know if they think it helps to send out 6 copies of every letter, but they always do. the whole thing is a huge joke imo

a birdie has told me(person working for IR call centre) that a lot of details are being stolen and used to set up false claims.

It has been national insurance numbers mainly that are stolen and this is an internal thing

zippimistletoes · 17/12/2005 19:13

whenever they send us anything on those green papers it always says estimate although they are sometimes the actual figures so when I use them as evidence for other things I get them sent back and asked for the non estimated ones..which I can never get hold of

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 17/12/2005 22:41

jambo thats bloody awful. My mates also having trouble IR have suddenly decided that she doesn't have any children thats funny as I pick her wee boy upfrom school...

I just hope to high heavens that they sort this out before I go back to work otherwise I will have to leave my job as there is no way I will be able to work and pay the full £300 a week childcare.

If you go to local tax office ( if you have one!) they will give you a giro for 2 weeks money then you will be sent monthly. But when they start paying into your bank again they will backdate it and you have to repay again.

jambothesnowman · 19/12/2005 22:52

another way to do it is go to local office and ask for emergeny payment.

THIS CAN BE DONE DON@T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER

You may need to be form with them though. They will soon sort out your direct payment super fast too
