Waiting for tax credit claim

I was a single parent working 16 hours with 2 children and my partner has just moved in. I phoned the tax credits and told them of my change of circumstances. My boss went bankrupt so we are living off my partners wage, which is low. I still am awaiting the tax credit claim forms and until they are processed we receive no money from them. We are due around £150 a week and don't know how we will survive until it is processed, tax credits it can take about five weeks with the forms coming through the post etc. Any ideas on how i can speed up the process?

Call them. And call them again regularly until the forms arrive. Make a nuisance of yourself until you're paid.
