my current bank does not allow standing orders from savings accounts. Is this standard in all banks?
I get paid a dividend every quarter and i want to put some of that money into my current account for my living expenses on a monthly basis - anyone any ideas on how i can do this as i want a bit of an interest rate so my money works a little.

thanks all!

Can you not just get online banking and transfer the money once a quarter yourself?

I bank with Halifax, have a small 'slush fund' savings account, and have a standing order set up to transfer money regularly to my current account. So you can do it. However, the interest rate on the Halifax savings account is pretty poor.

vj32 - i would but i am likely to forget every time. I like to do my budgeting on a monthly basis.

i'll try the halifax - apparently northern rock might have a good saving accounts too.
