Do I HAVE to wait for my w/ctc renewal pack?

They owe me 1000's and I'm 'in hardship'.

Can they make me wait until June 30th?

Have you tried contacting HMRC directly on their helpline? This time of year they're going to be busy but it sounds as though you need the money urgently.

Had a letter yesterday telling me that they are not renewing my claim for tax credits because our income is too high. We have not claimed tax credits for about 5 years...our youngest is 22 this year. Confused.

I phoned them and pleaded poverty but they said id have to wait, poss until end of june!

If you're genuinely struggling you may qualify for a hardship grant in the interim. Have you looked into what's available?

I just rang up and gave estimated incomes over the phone for 2011/2012, tax credits were recalculated and new amount was paid into the bank the following week. No mention of having to wait until the end of June
