Home insurance claim.. is there a time limit within which you have to make a claim?

on your home insurance policy, can you make a claim six months or more after the damage or loss happened? Anyone know?

You'll have to check the small print of your policy. I would imagine there is a time limit but if you can argue that you've only just noticed the loss/damage you might be covered.
