Where can I get completely independent pension advice?

Does anyone know who I can approach to assess whether my personal pension is worth continuing with and what the alternatives are? I saw an IFA but I think he was on commission because he talked rubbish and was pushing various financial products - feeling a little bruised from that encounter

If you can PM me the area where you live I may be able to point you in the direction of a good IFA, if I can't I might know a man who can so to speak.
