Car finance asking for bank statements

We applied for car finance today, they have come back asking for bank statements for last 3 months. The bank account number I gave for the applications is what we call our "bills" account. It is always overdrawn and there was one month I. The 3 when 5 direct debits bounced before being paid due to money not being transferred on time.

The account never has any surplus cash in it as we live out of another account. Have I totally buggered our chance of getting the car? Anyone any idea?

Anyone? Am really stressed...

I imagine that they are mainly concerned about affordability.

If this is the case, and you are definately not overstretching, send in three months statements from each of your accounts - ie including the accounts that "feed" your bills account.

Do this with a note of explanation, and they will be able to see your full income/outgoings details.

I cleared a credit card balance that had one overdue payment on Saturday as well so that won't have shown yet, which is probably why I've been asked for bank statements
