Bizarre conversation with my elec company about the bill.

They sent me an email to say they were reducing my DD; so I rang to ask them to put it back up.

I explained that in Aug 09 I owed no money, during the next year they put my DD down 3 times & in Aug 10 I owed over £300. Which is wrong because generally people use more elec in the winter.

& apparently because I joined at the wrong time of the year this will always happen, unless I ring twice a year

that is odd isn't it?

It's a 'computer says no' sort of situation, isn't it? I would be tempted to leave the DD where it is now and let them owe you £300 or whatever .... this will probably trigger a rise in your DD payments to pay the backlog in due course, and you will be better off because you owe them rather than having built up a big balance.

I'd be tempted to say "So your computer system is so unfit for purpose it is unable to produce accurate billing. And you expect me to trust you now? Sod that. You are a disgrace. I shall be moving energy supplier ASAP."

Sod 'em. Anyone that crap is going to screw you over sooner or later so you might as well get the hassle of moving out of the way now.

I can't 'cos I owe them money (only £170) & they put my DD DOWN
