After a fairly crap week involving PILs, broken down cars, door keys that don;t work, streaming colds, dh away, to cap it all a speed camera had the courtesy to flash me on the way home this afternoon.

Is it a dead cert?

14 days
speed pealase/

ic an tell you what your fate is

Ulysees · 13/10/2005 20:21

you'll get a letter within next 14 days askin who driver was at the time if there is film in it. You heard of anyone else being done there?

JanH · 13/10/2005 20:25

If you get NIP letter (notice of intended prosecution, hm, wonder why I have the jargon off pat?) more than 14 days after an incident you can ignore it.

You might be lucky anyway. Fingers crossed.

Frayedknot · 13/10/2005 20:30

I reckon 36-37 in a 30 limit.

In that case - if there was film - they might offer you a speed awareness course - £90, no points. Take it!

codface · 13/10/2005 20:34

B*gger. Thanks for the info. I would rather have no points tho - never had any before - what would the course involve?

speed awareness information

Depends where you were caught etc. (If you were caught!)

codface · 13/10/2005 20:52

a day or so you have to pay for it oyurself

its normaly 10pecent plus 2 to be prosecuted, the higher the speed in a low speed area the more points oyu get
ie 50 in a 30 gets you 6

codface · 17/10/2005 21:00

update?

Frayedknot · 18/10/2005 14:31

No sign yet.

50 in a 30 gets you 6?

the guy who ran me over and who was travelling at 50mph (as he admitted, witness guessed and speed marks proved got NOTHING)

if id have died (which they thought i would) he would have got 'death by dangerouse driving'

This was between a primary school and children park!

elitemeetupCOD · 20/10/2005 17:08

yep
