  1. Is there a maximum amount of hours that a 16 year old (finished school in July) can work?
  1. Do Tesco have a different variation within their stores?

The background... My stepsister has told my dad that Tescos will only give her a job for 11 hours a week as that is all she is allowed to do at that age... is that true??? Sounds like she's tryin to pull a fast one to me, but thought it might be some weird tesco regulation so they don't look like they are doing slave labour.

I believe the law states that a young person (i.e. between 15 and 18 years of age) must work no more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week. There are other laws relating to safety, etc., but I take it this is just shelf stacking or something?

Don't know about Tesco's own employment structure.
