credit unions good or bad

I need to start saving some money and have been thinking about using credit union and do like the idea if needs that i can get a top up loan come nearer the time as know banks etc wont touch me as a carer.

Anyone have any experiance of them

No personal experience, but everything I've read about credit unions has been positive. Hope you had more response in Chat! :)

oh yes yes yes, please do, they are not for profit and work on the principle of giving sound financial advice to put loan sharks out of business and help you manage your money better.

I checked my local credit union's APR for borrowing £100 and it was 26%. I would love to know whether their savers get anything close to that!
