has anyone got a BaBeeCard, or know if it's a good idea?

No, but i had a Tuxedo pre-pay credit card. It was fine but i got annoyed with fees. They even took money off a refund!

You'd have to go through the retailers they list, ask yourself honestly how much you actually spend there, work out the likely discount value you'd get and then offset that against the fees e.g. £9.95 to get the card, the £0.75/month fee and £1 to use the card at a cashpoint.

If you don't or can't do your grocery shopping at ASDA or Sainsbury, for example, then I think the card would be poor VFM... the bulk of most people's expenditure I would think is on groceries.
