I've had to send a new claim off to the tax credits, rang them after about 2 weeks and they told me to give it 3 weeks til the claim would be sorted, rang after 3 weeks and they said nothing had been put on the system and passed it on to there 'specialist team' and to give it another 3 weeks..i'm due to give birth in 2 weeks. I really really could do with the money as i'm having to dip into credit cards, has anyone had there claim resolved or is there anything i can do to speed it up? When babys born if they havent put it on system by them i just have to wait apparently too. stressed!

I tend to go with the 'make a nuisance of yourself' route when it comes to this kind of thing. (Insurance companies are a speciality) Don't 'wait 3 weeks'... call daily, two or three times a day if necessary. If your claim is with some 'specialist team' then get the name of the head of that team and ask for them directly. Keep a note of names, dates and times and then follow your claim up in writing - including the information about who you spoke to and what you were promised. Threaten to speak to your MP or CAB... Just keep exerting pressure.

If you don't speak up, they'll just put you at the bottom of the pile
