what's your debt:earnings ratio? again no reason but t'other thread got me interested. our total debt is about half annual earnings. that's very low yes?

My debt (mortgage only) is just under double my salary... no credit card debts... so feeling OK.

mortgage+nursery+bills = hardly anything left over
just got a note from student loans (taken out 5 yrs ago) that I have to pay £150 a month back (paid some then deferred it) cardboard city here we come

We have no mortgage though - left it too late, and now can only get a mortgage to cover a bedsit!
