Buildings insurance? Not UK resident but returning next year

We are currently living in Belgium and have almost bought a house in England. Our long term plan is that DD and I go back next June to live in the house and DH comes the following year. We are virtually able to exchange but, I can't get buildings insurance because we are not UK residents and don't live in the house, I can't live in the house because we are in Belgium and can't exchange because we can't get insurance. Are you with me so far.
Can anyone recommend an insurance provider?

www.cherishhomeinsurance.com

This lot do mine. You could try taking out a l/l insurance for the moment and using that?

Why won't the Mortgage company do one for you? There must be loads of expats who have a home in the UK and need insurance in these cases.

Their website is under construction - but call them, they have been going for years but changed name, and are really helpful. The guy I deal with is called Neil Bresler.
