Are you German? Do you know the system there?

Do you need to do a summons (here) for payment?

How common is it in Germany to issue one to get paid an outstanding debt?

Thank you, your advice is very welcome!

I have not lived in germany the past six years so apologise if my info is not complete.
you need the original dated invoice to attach to the "Mahnbescheid" you do not need to send reminders but after 30 days of your invoice it is outstanding and you can start the proceedings.
how late is the payment? private or business?

MarshaBrady · 14/09/2010 08:49

So late I could weep. Is one and half years.

The problem is I am not the person with contract or doing the chasing, my London contact is. I have forwarded the link. They have threatened and cajoled and are slowly receiving monthly installments.

So I am wondering if I should say to them they have to do this to get paid. And if every one in Germany does?

A very kind poster said they have to in Austria.

I think most companies still send 1st 2nd 3rd reminders but after that they usually start proceedings.

Thanks mousy.
