bank account for ema

my daughter has her dad's surname and my maiden name is on her birth certificate so they would not let her open a bank acount at my branch.
Is there any banks that lets seventeen year olds open a bank accont for their EMA in their own right ?

I believe that if you can show that is the name she uses, there is no reason to refuse the account.

You could provide an accompanying letter showing she has been known by the name from a doctor or someone of similar standing.

She will have the same problem (as I did) when applying for a passport.I needed an accompanying letter to explain.
